Fresh out of college, our founder, Steve Oehlerking, began investing in real estate by purchasing, renovating, and managing apartment buildings, rooming houses, and single-family homes in Gainesville, Florida. That firsthand experience as an investor shaped a simple belief that still guides us today: property owners deserve a management company that cares for their investments as if they were its own.
Steve founded Apartment Hunters, which grew into Florida's largest apartment locating company, serving Gainesville, Orlando, and Tampa. In 1998, the company was recognized as an Inc. 500 company—one of the fastest-growing privately held companies in America. Working with thousands of renters, owners, and real estate professionals gave us invaluable insight into every stage of the rental lifecycle.
Rent Solutions was founded with a vision to deliver a higher level of property management—one built on specialized teams, proven systems, and exceptional customer service rather than relying on a single property manager to do everything. Over the years, we've refined our processes, invested in our people, and built one of the most experienced property management teams in Tampa Bay.
We challenged ourselves to rethink everything—redesigning our processes, investing heavily in artificial intelligence, building our proprietary EDGE (Expert Driven Guidance Engine) platform, and reimagining the customer experience from the ground up. Today, owners enjoy greater visibility, faster communication, smarter insights, and a level of transparency that simply wasn't possible with traditional property management.
We opened our new headquarters and training center—a purpose-built facility designed to support the next generation of property management.
